French oral GCSE

First part of my French GCSE today... since coming out of the oral I've swung between pleased, sobbing, alright, sobbing, determined, and finally normal again.... Not really sure how it went... I think I got at least an A, but not sure if it was up to A* standard, and my oral is normally a strong point... relying on my listening, writing and reading papers to bring my mark up now, and relying on my french writing is never normally a good sign... Hope I did well enough to get an A* without having to be spectacular on the writing paper... Anyway, to take my mind off it, and cos its Monday, Hannah's here as usual, but she's sleeping over tonight so that we can continue our Sherlock marathon which we'd appallingly abandoned. In PJs, with hot-water bottle (ouchies...) and Sherlock. Love it. :)

Francais

Salut!
(Hi!)
Aujourd’hui, je vais parler en français seulement! Je suis désole si vous ne pouvez pas comprendre...
(Today, I will speak in french only! I'm sorry if you can't understand...)

Alors, je vais écrire le même chose en Anglais aussi!
(So, I will write the same thing in English too!)

Je pense que se serait un peut difficile, mais c'est pour mes examens, alors c'est nécessaire, selon moi! L’oral sera demain!!!!
(I think that it will be a bit difficult, but it’s necessary for my exams in my opinion! The oral is tomorrow!!!)

Hmmm, je ne peux pas bavarde en français, je pense... c’est trop bizarre… et a mon avis se serait mieux de parler aux sujets de l’exam.
(Hmmm, I can’t chat in french I think… it’s too weird… and I think that it would be better to talk on my exam topics.)

Alors, au revoir !!
(In which case, bye !)

Bizzarity...

Hellooooo!
I'm sorry for my appalling absence - Coursework sucks. I'm supposed to be writing the remaining 1500 words right now.... Argh...

Anyway, today is this Jewish festival called Purim which is basically the battiest festival you could hope to find. The idea is to celebrate this story of how people were gonna die but didn't basically (is anything ever to celebrate much else???) (the actual sorty is longish and complicated) and as this all took place in ancient Persia, people used to dress us in Persian outfits for the festival, which eventually turned into it becoming a festival for general fancy dress (or something along those lines). Anyway, the point is that we now have this festival where we dress up in costume, go to synagogue to hear the story (which is in Hebrew so no-one actually understands... Awks...), then have a huge party afterwards. Its also a tradition to get so drunk during the party that you can't tell the difference between the goodies and baddies in the story. You can imagine how that turns out.
For the 'youth' though, as we can't legally drink yet, this basically means holding a party on the upper floors of the synagogue - playing poker, eating candyfloss, and the little kids chucking shaving foam everywhere. By 10pm it looked like it had been snowing inside. (The party was last night.) Bare in mind that we were all still in costume. The most bizarre festival ever, in conclusion. They're not all like this...
Me and two friends went as Hogwarts houses - I was Ravenclaw, and the other two were Slytherin and Griffindor - but we were missing a Hufflepuff. Also, there were some really cute guys there... I stayed over at my friend's house afterwards (the Griffindor) and we were discussing the guys there until v late at night. I was slightly zombified in school today...

It worked...

I put 3 different alarms around the room, and it worked... I'm up working, and have been for an hour (its 6:30am exactly). It actually hurts. >:(

Sanity goes walkies

Lack of time makes these things rushed...

I have stupid amounts of revision at the moment for my GCSEs, so I've been eating too much junk food as self-consolation and now feel supremely unhealthy. My solution was to spend just over an hour in the school gym today on the rowing machines, tread-mill and weights, which actually only served to emphasise to me how unfit I really am. So its salads from here on, or for a while at least. Until my resolution fails and I go right back to a hideous diet of chocolate and bagels. Lets see how long that lasts shall we...?

Rant: I'm p***ed off at my alarm clock. Its gone and lost the ability to make a sound. How selfish of it. Its one of those technologically-advanced-yet-totally-hopeless type things, which monitors my movement throughout the night and wakes me up between two times in the morning when I am most awake already. So, for example, I normally have it set for 6:40-7:00 am, and whenever I'm moving the most and therefore most awake between those two times it wakes me up. Which is great, until it then forgets to ring. Gah!! So for the past week I've been waking up late cos my alarm clock's volume seems to somehow go down to zero during the night, no matter how many times I put the volume on full before I set it in the evening. Design fault or something. But the point is that I now need to buy a new alarm clock. >:(

Also, I was making cupcakes over the weekend and I set the microwave on fire... That was fun... not.

This is what happens when I'm stressed. Sanity goes walkies. :)

Standard evening

Standard Saturday night evening...

As it was my first sat evening in for a few weeks, I made cupcakes, did some french revision, and set the microwave on fire by mistake. Let it never be said that I can't cook with style... ;)
